700 MHz Reporting Requirement Delayed by FCC

The FCC has postponed the deadline for filing 700 MHz performance status reports that were previously due June 13, 2011. The FCC today responded to CTIA’s May 26, 2011 letter seeking clarification that the reporting requirement had not gone into effect, agreeing that since the requirement had not been published in the Federal Register, it has not yet gone into effect. The FCC has begun notifying all impacted 700 MHz A, B, C, and/or E block licensees that the reports are not yet due. Accordingly, RTG members should delay filing the reports until the FCC establishes the new filing date which it may not due until the reporting requirement is approved by the Office of Management and Budget and published in the Federal Register. It is expected that there will be a delay of at least two months before the new deadline is established.
