On December 30th, the FCC granted the request by RTG to extend the filing deadline finding that it would be in the public interest to adopt identical comment cycles for the Verizon Wireless/Leap Wireless, Verizon Wireless/SpectrumCo and Verizon Wireless/Cox applications. Verizon’s SpectrumCo and Cox applications were filed subsequent to the release of the public notice setting the pleading cycle for the Leap Wireless applications. The FCC found persuasive the arguments suggesting that these subsequent filings present new information that may be relevant to interested parties seeking to comment on the Leap Wireless transaction.
