Interop Technologies, a provider of core wireless solutions for advanced messaging, over-the-air handset management, and connectivity gateways, today announced that Open Mobile, a leading mobile operator in Puerto Rico, has successfully deployed the Interop Multimedia Message Service Center (MMSC) solution. The technology enables Open Mobile subscribers to exchange messages combining text with audio, video, and images. Open Mobile has also deployed Interop inter-carrier services, which enable Open Mobile subscribers to share multimedia messages with subscribers on other mobile networks.
Open Mobile, which provides flat-rate, unlimited wireless communications services throughout Puerto Rico, benefits from unmatched performance and scalability offered by the Interop Technologies MMSC. Ensuring the highest rate of message delivery and proper message presentation, the Interop solution enables Open Mobile to capture additional revenue from this popular and growing service. The operator has deployed the MMSC using a private cloud approach, where the technology is located at Open Mobile’s network operations center but is managed by Interop Technologies. This strategy enables the operator to avoid an up-front capital expenditure while allowing its internal resources to focus on other mission-critical tasks. Open Mobile has previously deployed the Interop Technologies cloud-based Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) and Over-the-Air (OTA) provisioning solutions.
