Emerson, IA, July 2012: Chat Mobility announces the promotion of Brian Spurgeon to General Manager. With an extensive background in management that spans several industries during his career, he most recently came to Chat Mobility from a wireless company in Kansas where he was in a key management role. Mr. Spurgeon’s participation in the technology industry includes his investment and management of a startup VOIP Internet company.

Mr. Spurgeon has a BS in Education, BS in Accounting and a MBA in Business Management with an emphasis in finance. A firm believer in giving back to the community where he works, lives and plays, he has served on the Board of Directors for the United Way, the Board of Directors for Smokey Hill Golf Club, has completed volunteer work for the American Red Cross, participated as a Trustee at his local church and is an active member of the local Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Spurgeon is also involved in several industry organizations including RTG, RCA and CTIA. Within RCA, he contributes to the Regulatory Committee, serves on the golf committee for the RCA annual meeting and enjoys participating in lobbying on Capitol Hill on behalf of rural cellular carriers. In his free time he enjoys playing golf and travel.
