Joint 700MHz D Block Ex Parte

RTG and competitive commercial carriers urge the FCC to recognize the competitive importance of the Upper 700 MHz D Block spectrum and reject calls from the two largest carriers in the wireless industry (AT&T and Verizon Wireless) to reallocate that spectrum block from commercial to public safety use. Rather, the Commission should advocate to Congress that the spectrum be auctioned solely for commercial purposes with the funds generated by the auction used to assist public safety broadband network build out. This approach would provide the public safety community with the resource it needs the most to deploy new communications technologies, i.e., the dollars to build out and operate new systems.  Click here for more information.
