NewCore Wireless’ Technology Gives Students Internet Access on Bus

A recent article in the St. Cloud Times, showcases Becker Public School’s new “rolling study hall” and the benefits that public-private partnerships can bring to a community. Utilizing technology hosted by NewCore Wireless, Clear Lake, Minnesota-based Palmer Wireless has outfitted 20 mobile 3g/Wi-Fi modems on the district’s bus fleet. With an average commute of one hour each way, students  now have the ability to do homework, turn in assignments and learn via the Internet during their daily bus ride to and from school. In return for the mobile broadband access, Palmer Wireless was allowed to site a tower in the city of Becker.
