RTG’s Technology Advisor Named to FCC’s CSRIC

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has appointed Mehran Nazari, Technology Advisor for the Rural Telecommunications Group – The Rural Wireless Advocate – to the Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC).  CSRIC is a federal advisory committee that provides guidance, expertise and recommendations to the FCC to improve the security, reliability and interoperability of the nation’s communications systems.

“I am honored to be appointed to the CSRIC and look forward to representing the voice of rural wireless carriers while assisting the FCC with important issues such as the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1, emergency alerts and cybersecurity,” stated Nazari.

Members of the CSRIC are appointed by the FCC from the public and private sectors.  The FCC relies upon the CSRIC to provide vital and relevant recommendations to effectively address issues that are under consideration.
