RWA Board Member John Nettles knows what it takes to bring telecommunications services to rural America. His family’s company, started in 1948, has been doing this work for more than 70 years. Nettles recently spoke with National Public Radio’s Marketplace regarding the company’s use of inexpensive and high-quality network equipment manufactured by ZTE, an FCC proceeding that threatens to ban the use of such equipment, and what its loss would mean for economic development and public safety in rural areas.
