RTG Not Opposing T-Mobile/MetroPCS Merger

Combined Company Provides an LTE-based Alternative to AT&T and Verizon

The following statement can be attributed to Carri Bennet, RTG’s General Counsel:

By merging their assets, T-Mobile and MetroPCS will be able to provide a competitive, and hopefully long-lasting, alternative to the Twin Bells of AT&T and Verizon. Analysts have frequently cited both companies as needing to do something to remain viable competitors to the Twin Bells. Having a healthy, vibrant fourth LTE competitor is critical to preserving competition in the mobile wireless market. A post-merger T-Mobile truly committed to being a value-leader benefits all consumers.
