Wireless E-911 Location Accuracy Requirements

RWA filed a petition for an extension of time to file comments on the Roadmap for Improving E911 Location Accuracy. The Roadmap is an alternative E911 location accuracy proposal that was negotiated by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), AT&T Mobility, Sprint, T-Mobile USA, and Verizon.

Comments on the Roadmap are due December 10, 2014 and replies are due December 17, 2014; however because of the importance of this proceeding to the public safety, the technical nature of the Roadmap, and the FCC’s expedited comment period, RWA file for an extension of the comment deadline.

RWA encourages its members to carefully review the Roadmap and consider whether implementation would be possible if the FCC were to apply the Roadmap to all carriers.
